Customer story
How a SaaS founder went from “I keep meaning to” to running an actual content strategy.
Neil Cameron is the founder of ResponseHub.ai and pentest. Below, in his own words, he tells the full story: what he tried, what didn't work, why he tried Evatype and what changed.
The full story, in Neil's words
What were you trying to accomplish?
I wanted to consistently produce high-quality content and come up with strong ideas to back it up.
My content sits in a pretty technical space (compliance and cybersecurity), so accuracy matters a lot, and so does having genuinely good themes to write about, not just generic filler.
What had you tried before? What wasn't working?
I'd tried a few writing tools, including Outrank, which is fairly well-known, but I wasn't happy with the quality.
I also went down the route of writing my own scripts. Those actually produced better writing than the off-the-shelf tools, but they were a hassle to run, so I just didn't run them often enough.
And even then, I was still doing my own keyword research and coming up with my own themes on top of it.
What almost stopped you from buying Evatype?
Honestly, the fact that my own scripts were technically good enough. I kept telling myself I'd just use those.
But the reality was I wasn't using them. There was too much manual work involved every time, and it never quite made it to the top of my list.
What made you choose Evatype?
Two things.
Hrishi was really responsive, genuinely engaged with feedback and open to improvement ideas, which made a big difference.
And the quality of the content itself was impressive enough that it cleared the bar I'd set with my own scripts.
What results did you get?
I've published 10 blog posts so far and I've been really happy with how they've turned out.
More importantly, I'm finally in a position to run an actual content strategy with posts going out regularly, rather than it being something I keep meaning to get around to.
Who would you recommend Evatype to?
Any team that has a lot of potential content they could be creating but is resource-constrained, whether that's on the writing side or on building their own tooling.
Especially if you've been burned by other automated writing tools that felt like AI slop, Evatype is worth a proper look.
Before Evatype
Manual work was killing his content strategy.
- Paying $99/month for Outrank, unhappy with the quality.
- Built his own scripts. Better writing, but too much manual work every time.
- Doing his own keyword research and topic ideation on top of everything.
- Content kept slipping. Not posting regularly.
After Evatype
A real content strategy, running on easy mode.
- 10 blog posts published, happy with how they've turned out.
- Quality cleared the bar he'd set with his own scripts.
- Topic research and ideas handled, not just the writing.
- Posts going out regularly, not just something he keeps meaning to do.
