What a workflow controls
A workflow connects an input to an AI process and an output destination. Ideas use a workflow to decide how their content is generated.
Create a workflow
- Open Workflows.
- Select New workflow.
Evatype creates a draft and opens the first setup step.
1. Source
Name the workflow and choose where its input comes from.
- Manual accepts a topic when the workflow runs.
- Webflow CMS reads items from a selected Webflow collection. This option requires an active Webflow integration.
Save the source to continue.
2. Process
Set the instructions used to generate each item. Available controls can include prompt templates, research sources, competitor analysis, model selection, and image generation.
Use instructions that state the expected task, audience, evidence, and constraints. Save the process to continue.
3. Output
Define each field the workflow should return, such as a title, description, body, date, or tags. Field names and types should match the destination where possible.
For Markdown output, the provided defaults create common front matter fields and a body field. For Webflow, you can import a collection schema before mapping fields.
4. Destination
Choose where completed output should go:
- CSV Export makes the run available as a CSV download.
- Markdown Files makes Markdown output available for download.
- Webflow Collection maps generated fields to a Webflow site and collection.
Save the destination to continue.
5. Preview and test
- Provide a sample topic or choose a source item.
- Run a preview.
- Check the generated fields before running the workflow with real ideas.
The preview does not replace the review step for generated run items.
Select Run Workflow when the configuration is ready.
Change an existing workflow
Open a workflow to review its run history. Select Edit to change its configuration. You can also duplicate a workflow, or archive it from the workflow list.
Changes affect later generation. Review existing generated items separately under Review.
